To connect or reconnect your Facebook Page and/or Instagram business accounts, you will need to be an Admin. Only if your Facebook Page is setup within Facebook Business Manager, you'll be able to authenticate through Facebook and authorize your Facebook Page or Instagram connection to Simplified.

Here are the steps to help you check if your Facebook Page is part of Business Suite and what is your role.

Determining if your Facebook Page is part of Facebook Business Suite

Learn how to determine if your Facebook Page is part of Meta Business Suite and if you (or your team member) has the necessary permissions to connect (or reconnect) Instagram Business accounts and Facebook Pages to Simplified.

! note: Some publishing error for Instagram business accounts could happen because your Facebook Page isn't properly set up. Check the following steps to make sure your account is properly connected.

1 - Go to Facebook and open the list of Pages you have access to (you can access it by clicking here). Click on the Page you want to connect.

! note: if you don't see the Business Suite account that you’re looking for, you aren’t properly setup as an admin within that Business Suite, and you’ll need the admin to follow the steps on the next sections.

2 - When you're in the the Page, scroll the left side menu down and click Settings.

3 - Click Page roles.

4 - Your Page should appear on the Page Owner section. That means your Page is a part of Facebook Business Suite account.

If there isn't anything listed under Page Owner, then your Facebook Page is not part of a Facebook Business Suite account. In that case, skip to the Guide to Page Role section below.

Check your Page Role within Meta Business Suite

If your Page is properly set up as part of Meta Business Suite account (as shown in the above section), check to see if you're listed as an admin. On the Page Roles section, scroll down to see if your name appears listed as Admin under Existing Page Roles.

If your name is listed as Admin, and the photo that appears next to your name is the same one as your profile picture, that means your Page and role are properly set up and you have the necessary permissions to connect your accounts to Simplified.

If, however, your profile picture isn't appearing and in its place you see a briefcase icon, that means you don't have all the necessary permissions needed to connect your accounts to Simplified and post. In this case, you need the correct permissions enabled.

Here's how to fix it.

1 - Go to Settings on your Meta Business Suite and Business Manager (or click on this link to open it)

2 - Select the account for the Facebook Page you want to access. Under Accounts, click Pages on the left side menu, and scroll to find the name of the person that needs to be granted admin access. When you find them, toggle the Manage Page setting on, then click Save.

! note: If your Page isn't appearing on the dropdown menu under Business settings, then it means that the Page isn't part of Meta Business Suite account. In that case, to set an admin access, skip to the next section.

3 - Under Users, click on People on the left side menu. Make sure the name of the person who needs to be granted admin access is on the list. When you find them on list, click on their name, under Pages, open the dropdown menu next to the page name, then toggle the Manage Page button on, then click Save.

If the person's name doesn't appear on the list, a Page Admin can add them by adding their name or email on the search box, then clicking Add people.

After those steps are completed, the team members with Admin access can connect the Facebook Page and Instagram business accounts to Simplified.

Check your Page Role within Facebook Page Settings

If your page isn't a part of Meta Business Suite, you can setup an admin access through the page settings.

1 - Go to Facebook and open the list of Pages you have access to (you can access it by clicking here). Click on the Page you want to connect.

2 - When you're in the the Page, scroll the left side menu down and click Settings.

3 - Click Page roles.

4 - Under Existing Page Roles, you should see your name and profile picture under the Admin subsection.

Note: If your name appears with a different role (like Editor, Analyst, etc), you will not be able to connect your Facebook Page and Instagram business account to Simplified (since you don't have the necessary permission to authorize the connection). To fix it, ask the Page Admin to grant you an Admin role.

  • They can grant Admin role by clicking Edit next to your name on the list under Existing Page Roles, then changing the role to Admin; or

  • They can grant Admin role by following the steps on the "Check your Page Role within Meta Business Suite" section.
