How to integrate Facebook Messenger with AI Chatbot?

Integrating your Simplified AI chatbot with your Messenger can revolutionize your social media interactions, providing immediate and automated responses to your customers' inquiries on Facebook Messanger. This integration not only enhances customer service efficiency but also ensures that every message is addressed promptly, improving engagement and satisfaction.

Here's how to integrate Facebook Messenger with AI Chatbot:

If you haven't created a Chatbot yet, follow these steps to get started.

1. Start by opening 2 (two) tabs: one for Simplified, and one for your Meta Developers account.

If you haven't set up your Meta for Developers account, follow the steps on this article to get started. Once you do that, setup "Messenger" as a product.

Then, come back and follow the steps described here to set your AI Chatbot + Facebook Messenger integration.

2. Go to your Simplified account, and go to your AI Chatbot app.

3. Open your AI Chatbot and switch to "Integrations" tab, and then click on "Connect Now".

4. Click on "Facebook Messenger" from the pop up.

5. Copy the Callback URL to your clipboard, by clicking the copy icon that appears at the end of the URL. Keep this pop up open, don't close it yet! You will need it for step 9 again!

6. Go to your Meta for Developers account. Click on Messenger API Settings on the left side menu. Then, go to the Configure webhooks section and click on it to open the dropdown section.

8. Paste the Callback URL that you copied from your AI Chatbot (step 5)

9. Go back to the tab where you have your AI Chatbot open and copy the Verify token by clicking the copy icon.

Then, go back to the tab where you have the Meta for Developers account open, and paste the token on the Verify Token field. Then, click Verify and Save.

10. You will see that the Webhook Fields is empty. Click on the Manage button.

11. A pop up will appear. scroll down until you see the item messages. Click Subscribe. You don't need to subscribe to any other items. Close this pop up window by clicking on the X on the top right corner.

12. On the dashboard, go to the Generate access token field. Click on "Connect"

13. Allow all the necessary permissions to Meta to access your Page.

14. Once your account is connected, click on "Add Subscription" and select "message" from the pop up.and click on "Confirm"

15. Click on "Generate" to generate a token. Click on "I Understand" and "Copy" the token and click on "Done"

16. Switch back to Simplified tab, Click "Next" and paste the token in the next screen.

17. Once you save the token, You will see the Facebook Messenger in "Active state"

18. Congrats! Your bot is all set to respond to all the messages coming in your Facebook Messenger
